When I go to Las Vegas, I’m always looking for fun things to do – outside of gambling. Gambling can be a lot of fun – and I’ve made a lot of money on occasions playing slot machines and table games. But sometimes luck goes against me, and I just want to take a break from the bright lights and go outside to clear my head. All things in moderation after all!

On my recent trip to the USA’s gambling mecca in the Mohave desert, I was walking down the Las Vegas strip, and remembered the Mirage Hotel and and Casino had a great free volcano show several times a night. If you haven’t seen this volcano show, you should try and go. It’s really amazing to watch, full of flames and colour, and with an awesome sound show.
You see some crazy things on the Las Vegas Strip (but not generally as crazy as things you might see on Fremont Street in Downtown Las Vegas). People watching and mingling can sometimes be as much fun as other attractions. On this night that I made a video of the volcano, I had to stop after quite a short time because I was laughing so much at the comment a fellow tourist made to his friend… “That is not real is it?”.
Of course it’s not real you dumbass! Do you really think there would be a volcano like this, with a lake surrounding it, in the middle of the desert? Does every volcano explosion you see come complete with a mixed sound recording and drum beats? If this was a real volcano eruption, do you think people would stand quite so close to it to watch? I mean, these people are literally metres away from the action… not miles!
